Hannah Hagemann wrote this article in regards to Gavin Newsom’s order to shut down the beaches along the coast of California.
My mom and aunt texted this same article in a message to my extended family and just showing us an update of COVID-19.
Hagemann was able to use local officials as sources and got valuable intel from them in regards to their stance on the beaches closings.
There has been a large amount of backlash against Newsom for the “hard close” on the beaches especially from the city of Dana Point an dHuntington Beach.
Hagemann includes important quote from Newsom in regards to the order he put in to shut down the California coastline.
The part of the article that caught my attention the most was the paragraph talking about the beach closure was now in affect only in Orange County because some “pictures raised alarms”
There has been a lot of talk of bad photography from this as an arial view photo presents an image of social distancing but a side by side picture shows clumps of people all together.
Hagemann in this article again raises the point of Newsom’s agenda towards Orange County.
