The NCAA decided to cancel its most profitable event due to the concern of coronavirus.
The decision was expected as there was growing concern of how bad this virus would get and the thought of having fans and putting the players in danger was too much pressure for the NCAA to allow to happen.
NCAA SVP Dan Gavitt was the one to release hte staement to public of the cancelation of the illustrious event.
Gavitt was able to release statement that made the world stop for a second and realize how dramatic this will be and was able to get across the point that there is something much bigger going on than an annual basketball tournament.
Gavitt used his and public health officials expertise to come to a conclusive that decision that will ultimately cancel the March madness for the 2019-20 season.
I first saw this statement on Twitter and read the entire message immediately.
Gavitt got his point across clearly and very respectfully broke the hearts of basketball and sports fans around the world.
The professionalism Gavitt showed in the message was quite commendable.
